Indian start-up develops AI-based river pollution tracker

Delhi-based startup BlueStream AI has developed an automated river pollution tracker that uses AI to monitor real-time contamination levels in major Indian rivers. The device floats with the current and uses satellite-based communication to upload data every hour. Pilots in Ganga, Yamuna, and Sabarmati have shown successful results with accurate detection of chemical waste, oil layers, and plastics. Authorities are using the data to impose fines and close illegal dumping units. The government is considering making this system mandatory for all Tier-1 cities by 2027.
